Jared Nelms

Jared brings over 12 years of investments and capital markets to Forum. As Managing Director – Client Portfolio Manager, he provides portfolio and investment management support across Forum’s fund strategies and products, specifically in the Southeast territory.

Prior to joining Forum, Jared held a series of progressively senior roles at Angel Oak Capital, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, where he advised the firm’s RIA and institutional clients. In 2018, he founded Angel Oaks RIA team and played a key role in expanding the firm’s alternative investment platform nationwide. He also served as a product specialist across a wide range of investment vehicles—including mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, private credit, and other alternative strategies—with an emphasis on securitized and corporate credit.

Jared holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Investment Finance and Economics from the University of South Carolina and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). He also holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses. Outside of work, Jared enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and two golden retrievers in their hometown of Atlanta, GA, playing golf, traveling the world, and cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks.
